Guardix wrote this page, and Guardix is one of the products on it, so read it as a vendor's guide, not independent research. We did not test the other products hands-on. Everything about them comes from their own public websites, read on November 3, 2026, with a link next to each statement.
Quick answer
Large security contractors that want one ERP for payroll, billing, accounting and HR usually look at TEAM Software or TrackTik. Belfry runs payroll itself for guard companies. Guardix (ours) covers scheduling, geofenced clock-in, license reminders, training with certificates, invoices and payroll files, but it does not connect to payroll software today. Celayix, Connecteam and Deputy are strong general workforce tools that are not made only for security.
Top three, for different needs
- 1. Best for large contractors that want a full ERP
TEAM Software
Built for cleaning and security companies with over 100 employees.source
- 2. Best for payroll run in the same system as scheduling
Belfry
Payroll is built in, with gross-to-net calculations, direct deposit and tax filing.source
- 3. Best for field work and workforce in one app
Guardix
Scheduling, geofenced clock-in, invoices from clocked hours and payroll files in the same app as tours and reports.source

How we score
- Each guide picks the features that matter for one need, the rows of its table.
- A product scores one point for each row its own website documents, with a link you can open. The score is counted from the table, cell by cell; nobody typed it in.
- “Not published” scores nothing. It may mean the website does not say, not that the product lacks it: ask the company.
- Guardix's points come from our own fact sheet, checked against the Guardix app. A “No” in Guardix's column is something it does not do today.
- The score shows what is documented, not how well a product works. We did not test the other products hands-on, and we do not rank them by quality.
- Prices are shown as each company publishes them and are not scored.

Buyer's guide
Map hire to pay
Workforce tools cover the officer's life with you: hiring, licenses, training, scheduling, time and pay. List the steps you do on paper or in spreadsheets today and start there.
Licenses are a compliance risk
An officer working with an expired guard card is a liability. Check that licenses are stored with expiry dates and that someone is reminded before they expire.
Time must become pay without retyping
Ask how approved hours reach payroll: payroll inside the product, a direct connection to your provider, or a file you download. Each has a different amount of manual work.
Security fit matters
General workforce tools are strong on scheduling and time, but may not know post sites, patrols or client billing. Security-specific tools usually do. Decide whether you need both.
Ask about size
Some tools suit small teams with simple pay; others are built for companies with thousands of employees, unions and job costing. Ask for customers your size.
Questions and answers
- What is security workforce management software?
- Tools for an officer's whole time with you: hiring, licenses, training, schedules, time and attendance, and pay.
- Which of these run payroll themselves?
- From their websites, Belfry and TEAM Software run payroll, and Deputy offers payroll by Paycor in the US. Guardix produces a payroll run as an Excel or PDF file. Celayix, Connecteam and TrackTik prepare hours or send them to payroll systems.
- Do I need a security-specific workforce tool?
- Not always. General tools such as Connecteam and Deputy handle shifts, time and HR well. Security-specific tools add guard licenses, post sites, patrols and client billing.
- Does Guardix track guard licenses?
- Yes. Licenses and certificates are stored with their expiry dates, and managers get reminders before they expire. Officers upload documents from their phone, and managers approve or reject them.
