This Cookie Policy explains how STEM Technology, LLC, doing business as Guardix ("Guardix," "we," "us," or "our"), uses cookies and similar technologies on its websites and web-based Services. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.
You can review or change optional choices through Cookie Settings on the relevant website. The choices available and legal requirements may depend on your location and the technologies used on that property.
1. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files stored on your device when you visit a website. Related technologies include local storage, pixels, tags, device identifiers, and certain software development kits. These technologies can remember information, recognize a browser or device, measure activity, or support service functions.
A first-party technology is set by the website operator; a third-party technology is set by another provider. A session cookie usually ends when the browser session ends; a persistent cookie or storage item remains until its stated expiry, deletion, or replacement. The period for a particular item is stated in the inventory below.
Not all information sent over a network is a cookie, and not all uses require the same legal treatment. This Policy describes storage and access technologies; the Privacy Policy addresses the broader processing of personal information.
2. Categories and purposes
| Category | Purpose | Choice |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Functions such as authentication, session integrity, security, load management, and recording privacy preferences, where necessary for the requested service or another applicable legal exemption. | These are limited to qualifying purposes and generally cannot be disabled through optional cookie controls. Browser blocking may affect the requested service. |
| Preferences and functionality | Optional settings, personalization, or convenience features beyond what is necessary for a function you request. | Used subject to the consent or other requirements applicable to the specific technology. |
| Analytics and measurement | Understanding visits, feature interactions, performance, or campaign effectiveness where the actual technology is used. | Optional analytics requiring consent remain off until you agree. Any legally exempt measurement must be narrowly configured to meet the exemption. |
| Advertising and cross-site tracking | Advertising delivery, audience creation, retargeting, or measurement involving another business where actually deployed. | Used only under the legally required consent and opt-out arrangements; the approved inventory must disclose any such use. |
| Embedded third-party content | Videos, maps, chat, or other external features that may access or store device information. | Nonessential technologies are subject to the applicable choice before activation. A blocked feature may require permission before it loads. |
These categories do not state that every type is used on every Guardix property. The approved inventory identifies the actual technologies and providers. A provider's general description does not determine whether a particular deployment is strictly necessary.
3. Current technology inventory
The technologies we use may change from time to time as we update the Services and our providers. The examples below are illustrative, not a complete list.

| Analytics cookies, if enabled (for example _ga, _ga_[ID]) | Google Analytics or similar analytics providers | Analytics: helps us understand how our websites and Services are used. Not currently in use | Up to 2 years | Your consent where required by law |
| Push notification tokens (mobile apps) | Google Firebase | Communications: delivers notifications you enable | While the app is installed | Your device permission |
We do not currently use analytics, advertising, or retargeting cookies. If we enable analytics or similar tools, we will update this inventory, and we will ask for your consent first where the law requires it, including for visitors in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom. You can withdraw that consent at any time. If that changes, we will update this Policy and ask for consent where required. Separate notices or consent prompts may supply additional information for a particular feature.
4. Consent and preferences
Where consent is required, optional technologies will not be placed or accessed until you make an affirmative choice. You can accept all optional categories, reject optional categories, or choose individual categories. Continuing to browse, closing a banner, or accepting general Terms of Service is not treated as consent to optional technologies where affirmative consent is required.
You can withdraw or change consent through Cookie Settings as easily as you gave it. Withdrawal affects future processing based on consent; it does not invalidate earlier lawful processing. We may ask again when a choice expires, our technologies or purposes materially change, or applicable law requires a new choice.
If you delete cookies, use a different browser or device, or browse privately, we may not recognize an earlier choice. Relevant legally recognized preference signals still apply. A record of your privacy choice may be stored as necessary to remember and demonstrate that choice.
5. U.S. state opt-outs and preference signals
Where Guardix-controlled website practices constitute a sale, sharing, or targeted advertising under an applicable U.S. state law, eligible users may opt out through Your Privacy Choices / Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information, available with Cookie Settings, or by contacting privacy@guardix.com. The Privacy Policy must accurately state whether those practices occur.
We recognize legally required universal opt-out signals, including Global Privacy Control, for processing covered by the applicable law. A valid signal is applied to the relevant browser or device and, where legally required and reasonably associated, the relevant account or other scope. We do not require an account or unnecessary identity verification to honor a covered opt-out.
Browser "Do Not Track" settings are distinct from Global Privacy Control and do not have a uniform legal or technical effect. A Do Not Track setting does not replace legally required consent or an opt-out mechanism.
6. Third parties, communications, and mobile applications
Some providers act on Guardix's instructions; others independently determine their purposes. The inventory in Section 3 and the linked provider notices describe the actual arrangement. Consent to a website category does not give an unrelated provider unlimited permission to use your information.
If Guardix uses open or click measurement in marketing emails, the use must be disclosed in the relevant notice and subject to applicable consent and preference requirements. You may unsubscribe from marketing emails using the included link. Necessary service messages are handled separately.
Mobile apps may use device permissions, identifiers, or SDKs rather than browser cookies. Their collection must be accurately disclosed in the Privacy Policy, app-store declarations, and any required in-app notices. Cookie preferences do not replace device permissions or the separate legal requirements for GPS, biometric verification, microphone access, or body-camera recordings.
7. How to control cookies
You can control and delete cookies at any time. You can delete cookies already stored on your device, and most browsers let you block cookies from being set. If you do, you may need to adjust some preferences each time you visit, and some features of our websites and Services may not work. For general information about cookies, see allaboutcookies.org. Browser makers publish help pages on managing cookies:
Your operating system may also offer controls for advertising identifiers, tracking, and app permissions. Blocking strictly necessary cookies or storage can stop sign-in, security, or features you request from working. It does not withdraw a request you already submitted or erase information held on Guardix systems. Privacy rights requests are handled under the Privacy Policy.
8. Retention, international processing, and updates
Typical cookie and storage durations are described in Section 3 and may change as our technologies and providers change. Personal information received through these technologies may have a different retention period, described in the Privacy Policy or relevant provider notice. Deleting a cookie does not automatically delete associated server records.
Information may be processed in the United States and other disclosed locations under the safeguards described in the Privacy Policy. A cookie consent choice is not, by itself, a transfer safeguard required by law.
We may update this Policy at any time, including when technologies, purposes, providers, or legal requirements change. Updates take effect when posted with a revised effective date, and we will obtain a new choice when required by law.
9. Disclaimer
We may update this Cookie Policy at any time to reflect, for example, changes to the cookies and technologies we use, our service providers, or operational, legal, or regulatory requirements. Please revisit this Cookie Policy regularly to stay informed about our use of cookies and related technologies. Links to third-party help pages are provided for convenience; Guardix is not responsible for their content, which may change without notice. For more information about cookies, please contact us.
